Contributions and Donations
Contributions are accepted in a wide variety of ways. Victims often leave everything all personal items behind when fleeing from a violent situations. Due to limited storage capacity, our agency must limit the intake of items, our shelter coordinator is the best person to contact when you have items available to give. We appreciate those businesses who offer discounts, cash contributions, and donations of items for our clients.
Bequests
- There are many methods of transferring properties to a beneficiary under the terms of a will and directly listing an agency as a second beneficiary on life insurance, IRA's, retirement, and bank accounts.
Cash
- Accepted via mail, ONLINE, or in person at our office. Tax deductible. Never turned away and never a storage issue to accept.

Cell Phones
- Surplus cell phones are sent in to the Shelter Alliance which contributes cash back to our agency. Cell phones are accepted at the DSVCC office where a receipt can be obtained for taxes. Phones are also collected at receptacles located at Cellular One, YWCA, Radio Shack, Beyond Wireless, Sprint Store, Wenatchee Wireless, and Kelleys Telecommunications at the East Wenatchee Mall.

Christmas Baskets
- Area business staff and local citizens collect special gifts for a few if our client families at the holidays who would not otherwise have a Merry Christmas. If you are interested in sponsoring a family, please contact Amy H at the DSVCC office.
Food
- Canned, non-perishables, and frozen meat.
Foundations
- There are a vast number of giving organizations that have contributed and continue to contribute to our agency.
Fundraisers
- Pig out in the Park BBQ and Capital Campaign
Sponsored by the local office of Department of Corrections during crime victims week, the first event was held the Thursday before Apple Blossom at Memorial Park in 2004. Staff from Department of Corrections, Local law enforcement, and elected officials cooked up burgers; local volunteers performed on stage, and xx radio broadcast live. DSVCC, Dept of Corrections, and many social service agency staff collected up a vast amount of silent auction items. The 1st annual event was a success with a super turnout of social service agency information and public attendance.
Holiday Day Sponsor
- Limited Brands, Inc. has been a corporate sponsor to Bath & Body Works who coordinated with our Shelter Manager for Christmas and Mother's day to contribute a gift basket from a wish list of the women in shelter in cooperation with the National Domestic Violence Hotline
Office Equipment and Supplies
- Copy paper, Notepads, Binders, Brochure Display, Trade Show supplies
Stamps
On October 8, 2003 the United States Post Office issued this 3rd semi-postal stamp. Semipostal stamps sell for 45 cents and are valid for the 37 cent cost of First Class Mail Rate.
The additional 8 cents of funds raised from the stamp will be transferred to the Department of Health and Human Services for Domestic Violence Programs.
These stamps can be purchased at your local post office or online.
United Way
- United Way of Chelan and Douglas County recruits area volunteers to assist with the annual campaign from September 15 through October 15. The volunteers call on businesses to encourage the owners and their staff to join the mission to make a difference by designating a cash gift by either a payroll deduction, lump sum, or by invoice.
- All money stays here, funds received are distributed directly to a myriad of local social service agencies directly and through a competitive application process.

State Fund Drive
- A program for Washington State employee's and retiree's to donate to our agency.
Supplies
- Clothing, Diapers, Toiletries, Blankets, Dishes for shelter and shelter clients.
